Scientific Project Manager

Dr Asrar Ali Khan holds a M.Sc. and PhD from the German Cancer Research Centre. His research career started as a research assistant at the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) where he became well-acquainted to several molecular biology techniques and handled two projects dealing with cloning and in vitro evolution of two industrially important enzymes. In his masters at the University of Heidelberg and the German Cancer Research Centre (DKFZ), he was exposed to an excellent curriculum and obtained extensive practical experience in various areas of cancer research like oncolytic viruses, miRNAs in neoplastic transformation and characterisation of cancer cell lines using in vitro assays. In his PhD, he investigated the adipokines released from brown adipose tissue and their therapeutic potential against diabetes and obesity. I worked extensively with both primary cells and cell lines, carried out several metabolic assays and S2 work with adeno and adeno-associated viral vectors. He also has extensive experience with mouse experiments and metabolic mouse models.
